Yes, I was actually off a few weeks; the log that this was confirmed was on September 14.
Anyways, here it is, for the info about Elonian assassins and ritualist, just look a little below the half way point of the log.

Incorrect.

Does NOT mean that owning Factions will allow you to create them in Elona/Nightfall.

I don't get why people fear PuG's so much. I get a balanced group every mission and whip any noobs into shape before they screw up.
In HA though, it's understandable.

Doesn't mean you wont either.
Taking that quote there and turning it upside-down would give you:
"Yes (no), if you do (not) own Factions you will (not) be able to create Assassins and (or) Ritualist in Nightfall."

There is an easier way to get into groups, if you have a good title, people normally pick you, normally people pick people with the protector title over people with no title, even if they dont want to judge, they at least KNOW the PoTer either knows their stuff (or has very nice friends......)
But yeah, I play a W/N and I never have any trouble getting into groups providing the dist isnt empty.
but if you want in a group, DONT be a W/Mo with platemail spamming "LFP I TANK GOOD"
I have never seen one of them ever get a group.....

I'd say the safest profession to get in a pug is a spirit spammer with mend body and soul or some other nifty hex removers.

hmm this will be interesting:
The OP want to play a safe class that is wanted in a group despite of Heros being introduced. ok lets look at the options:
-Do not want to play Monk which often 2 needed in group.
-Do not want to play warrior which usually range from 1-2 in party.
-Do not want to play Necro MM which almost always have a place in the party.
the classes left to you are:
-Elementalist-usually 1 is needed in a party assuming you last longer than cynn.
-Ranger-usually 1 is employed in a balanced party or 2 in the absence of tanks.
-Mesmer-the misunderstood PvE class where no one know if they are doing anything at all. 0-1 in party, need some work to get in.
-Assassin-another misunderstood PvE class 0-1 in party, need alot of work to get into group.
-Ritualist-depending on the mission, usually 0-1 in party, need some work to get into group.
-Paragon-in the first few weeks of NF everyone and their Mom will have a Paragon. 1 is employed perhaps in a balanced group.
-Dervish-another potential PvE hate class and similar to the paragon, in the first few weeks of NF everyone and their Mom will have one. 1 is employed perhaps in a balanced group.
Well to sum up the above if you havent fallen asleep, the best option would be:
Play what you enjoy and learn to form your own parties then to depend on others to take you in!!!1111

*blink* *blink* whoever you got that from is likely pulling your leg or has some serious misunderstanding of the game. Which profession do you think currently holds the position of being the tank?

No, the correct contraposition is:
"If you will be able to create Assassins and Ritualists in Elona, then you own Factions".
(Logically, "not A implies not B" is the same "B implies A", not "A implies B".)
Of course this is not a very useful statement, as it is logically satisfiable if you own factions even if Assassins and Ritualists cannot be created in Elona.
Strictly speaking, therefore, Phoebe was right. Gaile's statement is non-informative.

So, you suck at playing, but you want to play an important proffession, so you can get in groups even though you are terrible at the game.
No thanks.

I can see the dervish replacing one of the warrior slots in most pug groups; some groups might only take 1 dervish and 0 warriors, it's definitely possible.
The easiest profession to find groups with is a monk. Next is either minion master or nuker. Since you don't like monks or necros, I guess for the OP elementalist is the best bet.

There really isnt a particularly safe profession. I am guessing from your not wanting the warrior you are uncomfortable with upclose combat. By not wanting monk..its a profession I myself do not wish to attempt bout hold high respect for those who do cause its not easy being everyones primary target. As for Necro...I understand the MM but have you considered touch necro?
Anyhow....you sound alot like you use the same play style that I do. I would recommend Fire/Shock Elementalist (take skills for both and weapon for both) or Ranger. Now I have seen alot say go on the side of barrage, which IMO is a fantastic skill butknow that it does have not allow you to use preparations such as apply poison, kindle arrow or choking gas. But you could also go on the side of interrupt ranger. Also barrage is not available till the second half of the game in Propheses and Factions so I am guessing its not gonna be available till later on in Nightfall too. Use that time to learn interrupting and poisioning. I have a friend I adventure whom is also a ranger. He brings poision and I bring barrage and just have us a ripping good time with the damage output.
You might also consider a ranger/paragon combo. Expertise lowers the amount of energy it takes to cast spells and skills and ranger armor is second only to the warrior armor. You could use either a bow or spear for ranged damage plus the advantage of paragon shouts to boost your team. Keep in mind that there are alot of rangers out there so getting in groups may seem difficult at times when compared to elementalist or monk. BUT IMO rangers are a vital part of any mission team.

I'd say a necromancer or an ele if your only concern is getting into pugs. Everybody wants a MM and for some reason people still think nukers are good.
Warriors are always needed too, but there always seems to be an abundance of warriors... although that might not be the case in NF, as Dervish is the melee profession and paragons are relatively tough as well. Both of these will be in a huge excess and they overlap with warriors.
Me? I'm making a mesmer because I've wanted one for a long time and even made one in factions, only to see a few days later, during the preview, that NF mesmers look sooooo much better.

I think if you're not in a guild (an active one) then you're going to be in a position of puging with whatever is available. Remember that it will now only take 2 people to form an 8 man. And, with people wanting to level up thier heros, for the first at least half of the game you'll prolly find out that most people aren't grouping up near as much. Will heros replace most pugs? Most likely.
